Simon May, Chair
 |
I have been a probation
officer in Southampton for 7 years, currently in a MAPPA Unit.
An exciting vision has evolved for the
work of CIP. As Chair, I want to try to take a strategic view and
enable others to join in to meet the challenge of the Christian
voice being heard again within the service.

God called me into Faith Missionary work for
twenty years, seeing many saved, healed and delivered. That same
call rests on my life having qualified as a Probation Officer three
years ago, based in Liverpool. Gods desire is to Change people’s
lives.

Jacqui Markie, Secretary
 |
I qualified as a Probation Officer about 6 years
ago and have worked in the community and MAPPA team in Southampton.
I have recently taken up a post at HMP Kingston working with
life-sentenced prisoners. I got involved with PSCF in November 2007
following news that the fellowship was considering folding due to a
lack of apparent interest. Having been involved in prayer groups in
Southampton for sometime and after a bit of research with Simon May
(Chair) we discovered that there are around 40 Christians working in
Probation in Hampshire many of whom were attending a local prayer
group or expressed an interest in being involved with one. I don't
believe Hampshire is unique in this and so I'm keen to see PSCF work
to identify Christians working in the probation service, help them
to network, form prayer groups in which they can offer each other
support and prayer for our colleagues and the service in the
challenging work that we engage in day in and day out. I've joined
the committee in the role as Secretary and hope that through this
role I can work with others on the Exec to see the numerous ideas
that we have to develop the fellowship come to fruition - it's
exciting times!

Sarah Stansbie, Prayer Secretary
|
I'm
originally from Birmingham but have lived in Paignton, South Devon
for about 10 years.
After working for some years in homeless hostels and housing, I
trained as a Probation Officer and have been qualified now for 3
years working in the general offending team at Torquay.
I
attend an independent
church in Paignton and have 3 school age children.
Being on my own with the children can be hard work but I'm
pleased to be able to serve on this committee.

Matthew Cottingham

I have been qualified as a Probation Officer for
two years, working in Offender Management in Blackpool for the last
year and before that working and training in Grimsby. I am married
to Diana and have two sons, Joel 5 and Noah 4.
My vision for the fellowship is for it to serve God faithfully in
everything, to be an organisation which encourages, prays and stands
alongside Christians who work within the Probation Service in their
walk with Christ so they can impact upon all the people who they
come into contact with.

I have worked with offenders in various
capacities for many years and have had much involvement with the
probation service. I currently run Sanctuary, a charity that
provides training and support to churches pastoring sexual
offenders. I think that CIP has an important role to play, within
the context of diversity, to uphold the Christian values upon which
the probation service was established.
