PRAYER DIARY

 

JULY – DECEMBER 2009

 

 

‘Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up’

                                                                                    Galatians 6 v 9

 

WEEK 1 MONDAY 6 JULY

 

Pray for the Alpha course at HMYOI Cookham Wood which was due to start last month run by Hope Church, Orpington that the Holy Spirit will work in the lives of those involved through this course.

 

WEEK 2 MONDAY 13 JULY

 

Pray for the CIP weekend away in September 2009 in Sheffield and for our guest speaker Tim Bryan, principal chaplain of HMP Wandsworth as he seeks the Lord for what to speak about.

 

WEEK 3 MONDAY 20 JULY

 

Pray for the government and MPs of all political parties during this troubled time.  Pray that integrity and righteousness will be shown in all their financial dealings and public life.

 

WEEK 4  MONDAY 27 JULY

 

Pray for all those adults and children whose lives are blighted by domestic abuse.  Pray that God will work miraculously in such families and heal those who have suffered as a result.

 

WEEK 5  MONDAY 3 AUGUST

 

Pray for staff morale at this difficult time with some staff facing uncertain about their future job security and having to cope with constant change.  Pray for peace in all decision making.

 

WEEK 6  MONDAY 10 AUGUST

 

Thank God for the work of the Prison Fellowship and particularly the work of the Prison Alpha nationwide.  Pray for those who become Christians while in prison, for support to be offered them by local churches.

  

WEEK 7 MONDAY  17 AUGUST

 

Pray for staff working in CAFCASS and Social Services for wisdom in dealing with families and for children caught up in damaged relationships.

 

WEEK 8 MONDAY 24 AUGUST

 

Pray for NAPO and their links with Christians in Probation and other Christian influences.  Pray that positive links and core values will be upheld.

 

WEEK  9 MONDAY 31 AUGUST

 

Pray for the work of the Street Pastors in various locations around the country that they will be protected and will be able to show God’s love to vulnerable people they come into contact with.

 

WEEK 10 MONDAY 7 SEP

 

Pray for the CIP regional contacts as they week to be a contact point for Christians within their respective areas.

 

WEEK 11 MONDAY  14 SEPT

 

Pray for those working in areas with a high number of ethnic minorities, refugees and asylum seekers.  Pray for cultural sensitivity and insight into their needs.

 

WEEK 12  MONDAY  21 SEPT

 

Pray for the work of Victory Outreach that it may be guided and blessed by God as it seeks to reach out to people.

 

WEEK 13  MONDAY 28 SEPT

 

Pray for all those individuals and businesses in these difficult financial times during the recession.  Pray for those affected by debt and churches which are seeking to assist people with this.

 

WEEK 14  MONDAY 5 OCT

 

Thank God for the various Christian alliances and groups such as the Christian Police Association and Lawyers Christian Fellowship and for their links to local churches and communities.

 

WEEK 15  MONDAY 12 OCT

 

Pray for our day to day work encounters with offenders.  Pray for opportunities to show Christian kindness and share the gospel when we can.

  

WEEK 16 MONDAY 19 OCT

 

Pray for the work of Sanctuary and Circles of Support and Accountability as they seek to support those who have committed sexual offences into the local community.

 

WEEK 17 MONDAY 26 OCT

 

Pray for all prison officers and other staff who work under difficult and stressful situations.  Pray for protection from harm and for compassion to be shown to those in their care.

 

WEEK 18  MONDAY 2 NOV

 

Pray for those Christian organisations that run Crisis Pregnancy Centres for wisdom and love to be shown to those they deal with.  Pray for all those who are caught up in the stress of unplanned pregnancies.

 

WEEK 19  MONDAY 9 NOV

 

Pray for the forthcoming CIP weekend away in Sheffield that we would all seek the Lord’s guidance in our lives during this time away.  Pray also for the work of CIP in general as we seek to make God known in our area of influence.

 

WEEK 20 MONDAY 16 NOV

 

Pray for the CIP prayer groups that operate in a number of places around the country that they will know how to pray according to  God’s will and that they will be a source of encouragement to many.  Pray that other groups will be set up and flourish in other areas.

 

WEEK 21 MONDAY 23 NOV

 

Pray for the Reflex project run by Youth for Christ to engage young offenders.

 

WEEK 22 MONDAY 30 NOV

 

Thank God for the Community Chaplaincy projects and pray that they will continue to receive funding.  Pray that they will receive recognition for the work they do and that more local churches will be supportive toward offenders.

 

WEEK 23 MONDAY 7 DEC

 

Pray for all those working with people who use drugs and alcohol.  Pray that God will work to bring those people into the light of his kingdom and away from the darkness of addiction.

 

  

WEEK 24 MONDAY 14 DEC

 

Pray for judges, clerks and magistrates as they deal with offenders in court.  Pray that wisdom, justice and integrity will be shown in all parts of the Criminal Justice System.

 

WEEK 25 MONDAY 21 DEC

 

As Christmas approaches, let us remember the Prince of Peace and pray that his light will shine in the world, especially in those places torn apart by war and conflict.

 

WEEK 26 MONDAY 28 DEC

 

As the year ends and a new one is nearly here, let us remember God’s goodness and seek to glorify Him in everything we do during 2010.
